The Lava Canyon trail to the southeast of Mt. Saint Helens is fascinating! It runs along a vividly blue river, scoured out during the 1980 eruption. Besides the handful of beautiful waterfalls along the way, there are also quirky additions including a 125-ft suspension bridge, a couple of metal ladders built into cliff sides, and staircases!
