4-Mile Washington Park Loop | Wildwood + White Pine Trail Song
This route connects the Wildwood Trail with the White Pine Trail, creating a unique 4-mile loop through the forest of Washington Park and the living tree collection at the Hoyt Arboretum--it also goes by the lovely Winter Garden.
It’s an easy, peaceful walk that combines two iconic Portland trails into a single circuit — perfect if you want a satisfying loop without committing to a long hike. And right now might be the best time of year to do it. Early spring is when flowers and new leaves start popping across the arboretum, making the forest feel alive again after winter.
So naturally… I wrote a song about it. Trails & Tunes is a series where each episode is a song about a real trail.
